Some fish are just boring...

I am sure some of you have boring fish as well, wish I never bought this one.

My personal least favorite fish at this moment is my magnificent Foxface. He is boring and lame...He comes out to eat, then hides in a cave all day. Maybe my tank is too small (110G) or maybe he was born with no personality but I am gonna catch him some how and donate him to my LFS to resell. I got him at LA DD around a year and a half ago.

I got him cause I thought he would be a great algae eater like a foxface I had in the past was, this guy though only enjoys prepared foods, picking algae off a rock...not for this fish lol.

Any thoughts on catching him? Was thinking of just waiting till the middle of the night and poking him out of his cave.

That is strange...they normally do not hide unless they are stressed. As TUSI asked, what else is in there with him?

I'm not a fan of magnificent foxfaces either. Hook and line to get him out.

you don't know boring fish until you keep discus. might as well hang a picture. maybe your fish is sick. my one spot is always active. it's either picking at the rocks or swimming from one end to the other. any other fish in the tank that could be bothering it? I do think a one spot would be more suitable to your tank.

Thanks for the replies. Never tried the hook and line before. Dont want to catch the wrong fish lol

For those that asked he is with a Kole tang, a pair of percs, a pair of rubrisquamis wrasses, a melanarus wrasse, female watanabe angel, and a banggai cardinal. The kole tang is smaller then the foxface. He is the biggest and pretty much no one goes near him. The watanabe is my favorite, super cool always out in the open and beautiful.

FWIW he also looks super healthy and eats like a pig (on frozen mysis, pellets, nori..) and is fed several times a day.
