It'd be interesting to understand if the concept of "self" is more prevalent in oceanic cleaner species in general. Might make sense biologically given the niche they fill in the ocean!

Interesting indeed.... I know that there are some species of butterfly fish that mate for life, so I would assume that the ability to recognize themselves would be similar to that of recognizing a partner ?
