Some fish is eating my Zoas polyp?

In this two month just star it ,any body know which fish were be eating Zoas
I had Barletts anthias ,borbouius anthias,marine betta,some other anthias, hippo tang,yellow tang,orange stripe tang,fire shrimp ,clearer shrimp .a lot snail hermit crabs,2emeramd crabs.

I had a lot sps lps stay very well .
i been checking long time no bug..

my guess would be the emerald crabs and/or tangs eating zoas..as crazy as it seems..yes tangs..

palytoxin, a speciality of zoanthids, and the second deadliest poison in the natural world. I highly doubt your tangs or any other fish were eating your zoanthids.

Are they disappearing instantly? Are they slowing shrinking as if they are malnourished? Do they have claw/bite/wound markings? What are the water parameters? What kind of lighting? How is the flow around the zoanthid colonies that are disappearing?

Is disappear instantly. And some with bite..
Is seem like is very healthy , after a hour some bite and some were gone left empty plug.
I had a lot zoa in my tank , it normally happen once a day ,damage 10 polyp a day.
My magnesium is 1400
Calcium. 460
ALK. 11
Phosphate. 0.00
Salinity. 1.026
Use Eco tech pro 30% color. 40 % white

I thought was emerald crab too.. But I had some new polyp come in was on top off Rock plug holder in the corner is damage too....
Emerald crab couldn't reach so hight..

Do you have an over abundance of asternias in your tank or possibly a new coral had a hidden nudibranch on it. I could see a rogue angel picking at zoas but I have never seen tangs pick at zoas. Not all zoas/palys contain palytoxin either.

I had the same problem and wouldn't have beloved it until I saw it with my own eyes. Google yellow tang eating zoas and you will be surprised at the results

Interesting, I wonder if it is due to yellow tangs habitat in Hawaii having zoanthids and palys present.

I have a friend that has tangs and has SEEN them eat their zoas...I wouldn't have thought it myself until I talked to her..
relocate the tangs and see what happens..if this is an option.

I saw my yellow tang near the frag rack and though he was pickin at alage. I watched him pick up a frag plug by the attached polyps and drop to the sand and he proceeded to destroy them !!! Expensive snack

The op could also have zoa eating nudis that are slowly eating them just throwing it out there

Many fish eat zoanthids and paly. My borrowed Matted Filefish ate many 100's of zoas after all the Mojanos were gone and before I could capture it. My Blochii Tang I have now has eaten at least 200 polyps of a 'Greenbay Packer' morph and is as healthy as can be.
