Some kind of coral?

Hopefully it's id-able from one of these pictures. It's a mat of something with florescent blue/purple (colorblind) tips waving under the blue lights.

I was afraid of that. Doesn't photograph well. They're individual strands, rather than a polyp with tentacles on it.

More fuzzy than ball-tippy, based on the images that came up for that anemone. Blue/purple hairs.

Hrmph. Hope not, based on what I got in a quick search. Doesn't quite look right to me though.

I'll try again on the pictures later. Feel like the blurry digital zoom and movement isn't doing a good job.

+1 digitate hydroids - not a huge deal if it is them, I’ve found increase flow and decrease food helps

Colonial hydroids. Starve them by aiming water flow towards them, not at them and they will diminish

You're probably right. I'm not finding pictures of exactly the same thing, but seems similar enough. From what I'm reading, they will kill coral?

Dang. That rock has little sparkly looking things all over it. Probably the same stuff.

So I just discovered the hairs retract at night. Further evidence for hydroids?
