Some kind of crab

I found this in my rocks. I had to tear apart the tank to catch a damsel fish that’s been nipping corals. After weeks of failing to trap him: today i took most the rocks out to catch him. During the process I pulled this guy out: I saw him a few weeks ago. He must have hitched a ride in. I have no idea if he is reef safe or not, but I put him in the refugium just in case. I heard black claws are not good. He’s small and I’ve been watching him for last few weeks. He pretty much just stayed on one rock and picked things off the rock, but he could become a problem so while I had rocks out figured I would pull him as well.

I think it’s a normal emerald. I’m not great with crab ID though.
 
^^+1^^ Yep. What he said. I've got one that I see about every couple of weeks. He's been in the tank for ever. Every time I'm sure he must be dead, he shows back up. This guy is HUGE!
 
Emerald crab. Not all are green and hairy.

Mithraculus sp.
