So I just set up my sump, and looking at my fuge, I love the little biotope. I throw all my asterinas in there, I have some GSP on the rock, and some grape algae. But you know what's missing, some cool critter to stare at.

Let me get down to the questions:

1.Are the rumors true, can mantis shrimp break glass? If they can, will they really try to?
The sump aquarium glass is 1/4"
The glass between each sump section is 3/8"

2.How much space does it need?
I always see them in rocks at stores, and I have a porous rock in there that it can sit in,
but the space isn't very large.

3.Will it eat starfish?
I plan on getting two harlequin shrimp for the DT and want to culture chocolate chip starfish,
Will the matis shrimp eat the culture, or do I have to separate them?

Please answer :D

How big is the space? 40 breeders are ideal for O. scyllarus. You could get away with less gallons if you had a wider area. Peacocks get 5-6 inches so you want to give them room to roam and build.

Whelp, I'm not getting a mantis shrimp then. (maybe like 3 gallons of refugium space)

3 gallons? Hardly room for anything. Maybe a couple sexy shrimp. some mantis shrimp only get 3 inches but I'd never recommend putting one that small in anything less then a 10 at least. Plus you'd hardly ever see it most hide
