The King of the QT!

Here is my baby powder blue x gold rim hybrid. I had been eyeballing it for several weeks at the lfs and snatched it yesterday. It’s such an amazing fish. It’s awesome to compare the hybridization of the two species, especially when you have prime examples of both species in your care. I can’t wait till this little guy matures and his colors become more bold!

I mostly go to lfs for fish.

Tank it easy has a nice selection of fish and gets shipments in pretty often.

aqua pros in glen ellyn also has great deals, I’ve been going to Dave for 10+ years. They can special order tons of fish and often have very healthy stock.

For more rare fish I’ve gotten a healthy pair of choati leopards from Among The Reef. They offer a comprehensive qt and conditioning process so that helps ensure healthy fish.

It definitely likes a lot of light, 450+ par. The multi-colored polyps also become more apparent as it gets larger. The transition of the polyp color is really dope.

It’s been a little over 2 months since I got my baby biota regal angel! Here’s a quick update shot, she’s grown a fair amount and her misbar pattern is looking really cool! It’s like looking at two different fish. Interesting though, she has never developed the eye spot that you on juveniles of this species. I wonder if the presence of misbars has any correlation to the lack of the eyespot.

She’s been eating pellets since day 1 and I’ve gotten her to start eating frozen and normal size nls pellets now.
