Some of my Acro Collection

What microscope are you using?
Since I’ve been doing this, my sand bed has stayed pristine! I hope it does the trick for you

It is just a $79 Amazon microscope with max 2000x. The videos are at 500x.

So it looks like the concoction is near just as good 36 hours later.

Has it been bubbling up all this time?

No. Bubbled for 12 hours then I dosed half of it. The last video is from the other half after it was refrigerated for another 24 hours.

I also just checked my PO4 and it is relatively the same before and after I did the initial dose. A test before was 0.11 two days ago and today it reads exactly the same at 0.11.

Understood. It turns out that you can leave the bubbling for the first 8-12 hours, and then store it in the refrigerator for 5 days.

my nitrates are worth about 10, rooted to the spot.
I don't measure phosphates. They cost 0.3

Why trace as we dose already daily in the tank?
I don’t feel bacto balance is a good option for this soup vs vinegar etc. I use bacto balance on my tank on a doser and it only takes 7ml for 300+ gallons of water. If you were to use it maybe a single drop as it’s potent.

Some Eye Candy!

CRT Face Melt, this one's colored up to be amazing!

What kind of container have you been using for the concoction? Been using a 500ml glass bottle so I could microwave between batches to sterilize and because my tank is relatively small - but it's a trade off with trying to aerate and prevent too much evaporation/ mess. Also not sure if it's worth it since i'm not really sanitizing the air stone.... wondering if kalk stirrer type setup might work better to prevent sediment at the bottom and keep things in suspension...

People have used magnetic stirrers, I’m currently working on a new formulation of the concoction and that should remedy the existing pain points of the current method.

Do you suggest reheating the mixture?
When I took the last microscope video, it was straight out of the fridge still cold. Looked ready to go to me. Leaving it out to warm up might spoil it faster imo.
