Some sort of Pods?

Any idea what these are? I am hoping they
are beneficial critters. I have looked at my sump for a while. Just got back from being out of town for a weeks em doing some cleaning I noticed a ton of these guys attached to the walls of my sump. Really hoping they are not invasive, detrimental to the system.

You are right! They are Pineapple Sponges! Good things to have in the tank!!

Yes. Good to know they are beneficial. They have exploded over the past few weeks.

Pinneaple sponges. Harmless filter feeders. I think they are silica based.
