My tank has been running for well over a year now, all sorts and full of SPS. Link is in the signature. I have 2 frags of pink lemonade in the tank in two different spots and neither is doing well anymore. No real bleaching or STN they just don't have the polyp extension or color that the other SPS in the tank have, or that even they used to. Have you ever had one type of SPS that just doesn't do well while all of the others thrive?

It's just weird that these 2 frags have something off with them while the other SPS are looking better than they ever have before. Especially since getting a controller and fine tuning my dosing so my levels are staying more stable than ever before. Granted I'll gladly give up these two frags in favor of everything else looking amazing, just not sure what is going on with them.

Was just curious to know if anyone with full blown SPS tanks run into this. Can different SPS like different Alk and Cal levels?

Me too can figure out why. Different sps can definitely like different alk, temp, salinity, lighting, and the list goes on n on. They come from different parts of the world and different depth's. We all have those select few corals we cant keep

SPS not so much if they are aquacultured - no real issues. Maricultured or wild are another story for me! I have more trouble with some LPS more than SPS really...

Any mari Acro is doomed in my tank lol anything that is Aqua I can keep easily

I got every type of acro (tenius, millie, nasuta, lokanis, etc) and they're doing great, but poclipora and stylophoras nope, tried them a couple times and everytime just bleach out and die. I thought they were supposed to be the easy ones haha

Good to see I'm not the only one! It's just strange how they can be surrounded by amazing frags/colonies doing well but they just aren't catching on. Makes sense they are all different, aquacultured or not. Being born in Alaska doesn't make someone more adapted to the cold I guess? I've had some trouble with stuff like Tri Color and Bonsai as well in the past, haven't gotten another frag to try yet though.

Same for me! For some reason simple birdsnest just never did well for me but my smooth skins, tenius, etc are all doing excellent! I'd like to try again though as It was when I first started the tank and the levels fluctuated a bit.

For me it's the red dragon. Tried 3 times. My tank is 90% acros too, and I have quite the variety. Very weird...

Bonsai, hanging on in my tank for the past few months but either start stn, little pe or just sit there.

Green monti caps. I've tried twice and each time they faded over a week or two. I've tried low in the tank and also top of the rock work. I have acro's and other color caps that are all looking great. Orange caps have polyps extended and are growing rapidly, so are purple.

I am red dragon to. It will do great and start growing. Then bam dead for no reason.
