Kind of looks similar to an A. aculeus colony I got on DD a while back.
What kind of ID are you looking for? You can either get a named ID like the Dragon Acropora, but to be valid it would have to come with that name and lineage from the original named coral. If you copy the name then it doesn't matter what you call it. IMO names are only useful to distinguish lineage.
Or if you are looking for a species ID then you can get a few good guesses but it is impossible to be certain, especially at that size. So if you find a close species, the proper thing to do is put "cf." in the name to show confer or closest guess. Example Acropora cf. carduus.
I have 2 choices

But I think your piece is going to change color to purple blue same as purple dragon eye

Yea we shall see i think it does resemble both at this point. Guess thats the fun part about this hobby.
Im looking for a named ID, but i do know that it is a frag of a mariculture colony. Im just lookiing for a named coral that it most likely resembles.
I guess I have a different perspective of what normal is. :/
