Got some new corals yesterday and this morning I see this tiny little thing moving all around the tank

hi ,looks like asterina.. :)

Asterina/aquilonastra depending on which thread you learned from. They multiply quickly and will overtake your tank. Mostly harmless though and can assist the CUC. Mine started eating my zoas so they had to go.

I have them. I’m a Zoa free tank but I have seen them eat Zoas. No question. Be careful with magnet scrapers if you have them. They can wiggle in and wedge between scraped and scratch glass when you go to scrape. Just sheke them off first.

I’m gonna take it with some metal forceps. I have plenty of CUC I’m happy with

Of course now that I want remove it from the tank I can’t find it anywhere . Probably out back multiplying

I don’t trust these guys at all especially having them eat a little of a Monti and almost an entire bam bam zoa colony. They can overtake a tank quickly and clog up plumbing and pumps quickly
This is the bugger that I caught eating my colony and notice it’s slightly larger than a penny

Good luck with your hunt. If they do take a foothold in your tank you can try a harlequin shrimp. I have a thread talking about my battle with these guys and the shrimp is what helped me win.
