Some white stuff on my glass

Hi guys, lately I have noticed a cloudy film on my glass. When I get to it with the scraper it comes o in stringy fillements I kind of slime in the water column. I am assuming it is some sort of bacteria, but that is just a guess. Has anyone else experiened anything like this. Is there somthing you can inform me on?

Tank overtime will built up a white film . I just carefully wipe it with soft papertowel and skimmer will remove it never affected corals or fish. Do a mild water change after and add some activated carbon. Happens if my fershwater tank of livebearers also.

Thanks JFT. I am running carbon and do 50% water changes once a week. And correc,t animals seem fine but it builds up in a matter of 24hours.
