So in this frogfish tank some of my zoas are closed some are happy and growing? One colony half are open the other half closed I can't figure it out? Any ideas? I have tons of pods and critters no flatworms and never seen any nudis. When I say tons of pods I mean tons! Any ideas?

Critter or pod or whatever

idk but they look like they are melting. maybe dip in iodide? i had thousands of pods like that and my zoas stay opened but my borbonious ate most of the pods :(

I have some lugols will give it a shot thanks. Someone mentioned it could maybe be isopods any thoughts on those?

They're dieing, check them at night after they have been in the dark for a few hours, something might be eating them. What is your mag?

When you take them out to dip them, look underneath the rocks they are on.

Tank is at my office can't check them at night. What should I be looking for under the plugs.

So zoas are still giving me some issues. I have some that are thriving that have been with me for a while and it seems a lot of the newer ones will usually melt away and die.....this tank is. 12g pico 9" deep with a vega color 22" from the sand. I only have a frogfish which leads to having tons and I mean tons of these pods. Any possibility of them eating them I do not have any other pests from what I can tell. I try dipping in lugols perixide etc never helps.

I recently had some Palys that looked like they were starting to Melt I changed the Flow around a little bit so they were getting more.. They've all started coming back. Almost lost my 6 Polyp Frag of Bowsers! Could it be a flow issue or do you believe it is something eating at them? I hope you find the problem before its too late!!

very nice tank. I bet your sps are doing amazing! I think you are burning the zoas. Lights might be too strong for what i can see.

What % do you run each colour at?
My lights are at 100% always no dimmer. Thats why they're almost in the ceiling super high. But you can try to put them on a little ledge covered. If you mess with the lights your sps will die. That little tank does not have a lot of water so light penetrates more.

Thanks. Well the sps are up and down in this thing they will be taken out and taken to my house once my 93 is done cycling.

Some zoas are stretching some are inside out and flat....some have really faded and gotten really pale. The rastas and the dragon eyes grow like crazy. I had some fruit loops that were doing great and all of the sudden started melting away,

Here are the %

White 10
Red 10
Green 10
Blue 30
d Blue 30
royal 30

They come on at 8am ramp an hour and ramp down at hour at 4.

Only thing I can think of would be the alk I run it around 6 ish kind of low because I try to keep this tank low maintenance. All of the other params are great. I started dosing some alk yesterday to see if it helps but never thought zoas cared to much about a little low alk? Thanks for the help

Low Alk will be the issue I think my params went crazy & alk was very low & the zoas did not like it at all. I had things not opening & with the swing had zp. I now run at 9.1 - 9.3

Thanks guess I will spend some more time on the alk and see if things improve.
