How to keep reef parameters stable when all these buckets of salt are so high and everyone give different parameters? I can keep them stable until I do water changes but my sps doesnt like it.

Try to do smaller water changes and try to find a salt mix close to your tank’s parameters.

In general your biggest concern would be alkalinity,
large water changes may cause alkalinity spikes which won’t make your sps happy.

Welcome to reef2reef!!!
What salt are you using ?
The freshly made saltwater is going to be different from the water you have in your tank .
I some using coral pro then switched to reef crystal because parameters were lower but both are way to high... I was thinking about going to tropic marine my tank runs around 9 usually until I do a change then it's at 10.5

10 gal water change does that

I use Red Sea blue. it has lower alk lower than 9 though . You can always dose the new water up to where You want it. A lot easier to rise than bring it down.
Does the red sea blue have trace elements an all that other good stuff just like reef pro just lower?

Hi there and welcome to R2R!

I’ve used both Red Sea Coral Pro and currently the standard salts and if your looking for ‘normal’ parameters then the Red Sea standard salt will work perfectly well for you. It contains all the trace elements you need and lower foundation element levels, but you will still need to dose foundation elements according to the uptake by your corals to maintain stable water parameters as the levels drop between water changes. They don’t like change especially alkalinity.

If your finding the water change is causing to much variation, try changing a much smaller amount of water at a time.

As far as what are the correct parameters there are different opinions depending on what your trying to achieve but this article is an excellent guide:

When I added a macro algae refugium and stopped doing water changes, I fount that my parameters became very stable.
Yup, with steadily declining trace elements

There are four solutions to this issue, and folks use them all.

1. Use a salt mix that matches your desired tank levels.
2. Use tank levels that are closer to your preferred salt mix.
3. Do very small and slow water changes (automated)
4. Adjust the salt mix to match you desired tank levels (only works for raising levels, or lowering alkalinity).
