So I went to my fish store when I got my goby a couple of weeks ago and saw this Little Rock with shriveled up piece of what seemed to be Xenia’s and asked them to throw it in with my fish. It is getting healthier and looking better but can someone tell me what this is ?? Also not pulsing like Xenia.
Thanks

top pic is when I got it, bottom is now

Looks like a colt coral or a Kenya tree coral. They can be tough to tell apart, especially when small. They are a good easy coral.

My clowns host mine, and it’s cute to see them lay in the branches.

Thanks for the input man. I’ve been looking everywhere to try to find out what I have going. Been trying to bring them back outta the ICU that the pet store had them in lol. Do they spread pretty quickly ?

They are very tolerant to poor conditions, they should be fine. They grow relatively quickly, but not at an invasive pace like some other corals. They are a solid all around coral, nice find as a throw-in.

+1 for kenya tree and if so can become a nuisance if not ket under control. I have decent sized colony and I am forever finding small sprouts trying to take root at the other end of the tank. Not a big problem if you keep on top of it but a nightmare if you let it get out of control

Yea it looked like a coral that would spread as much as it sways so hopefully keeping it on top will minimize that

Kenya trees are very invasive, they will drop pieces of it and they will start new colonies. just be careful :)
