I had a strong little 9 polyp colony of fireworks growing.
Got home yesterday to find 5 gone. What ate them?
crab, shrimp, snail or fish. At least the 5 remaining are largish and will multiply again unless someone eats them today.

Firework polyps are the very coral that started my Foxface down the path of coral annihilation. It must be like cotton candy to them.;Sorry
If it was him it's the first time. But as I am not home feeding as often it's easy picking for a hungry Mr Ed

Well if it is, this is what you may be in for!;Facepalm
Must get to frags (2).jpg

50/50 either the Peppermint Shrimp or the Foxface I think. Both have lots of reported cases of eating soft corals. Just try to keep an eye out and be suspicious when either of them are close. I think peppermints usually go after zoas when people figure out they're eating corals.

Peppermint is my chief suspect. Known to attack zoa

Only thing affecting my zoas are the mushroom that encroached on my rasta. Otherwise all are fine. Only issue so far is the fireworks. Very annoying as it was doing so well.

My shrimp usually hide during the day. Pretty sure this happened while I was at work but I could be wrong
Very possible. A good way to find out is to set your phone on video mode in the evening and feed as normal. Record for about 2 hrs and walk away.
Come back later and review video and you will then likely realize whats going on and who the culprit is

Good idea. I got an old phone I can use

Just discovered what ate my fireworks.
I was down to 2 polyps so moved it to a frag holder.
Today I came home to find the longspine Urchin on top of the frag. When gone I had no fireworks polyps left.
