This morning I noticed this thing attached to a power head and am not sure what it is. I’m guessing a polyp from either my Xenia or Anthelia, but no idea how on earth it managed to attach up there with the power head going…

Bumping your post!
Hey - thank you.

I took the power head out for cleaning and found it was indeed a piece of waving hand anthelia, with the “stem” caught and wrapped around the shaft housing at the back side of the fan

Hard to tell but your powerheads will get filled with creatures over time. I try to clean mine before they look like this.

Ouch

How often should we be cleaning our power heads
I tend to do mine once a month

I do a complete strip once a year when they look like those.
Cleaning powerhead when in use every month.
