Something attacked my Mandarin???

RIP little buddy you will be missed... as an FYI while I removed the fish before it passed it was def dying and I noticed a lot of the coral seemed in distress and now seem to be much better. Maybe it gives off a chemical when it is wounded? (I do believe they have a slime coat).

They secrete poisonous mucus on their skin. This protects them while they sleep (which is why they look white at night) and also from potential predators.
