I was wiping the tank glass like I've done many times and noticed something cloudy poof out from a rock. It did it about 6 times. Never saw it before. Reminded me of like octopus ink. Anybody know what kind of rock dweller it could be?

Certain types of snails do that when spawning. I think that stomatella snails do that in my tank. Several at one time I have seen doing that.

Just googled them and yes I have those that hitched on some live rock. Does that mean I might have babies! That would be a good thing right?

A very good thing, as they are sought after for cleanup crews around these parts. And they reproduce readily. I have seen them blowing "smoke rings". What a treat! Another snail that I got a kick out of was the vermitid snail. One day this snail produced a sail like web about 10 inches in diameter. It collected particles from the water, and then slowly retrieved them into it's shell. Really other worldly, and fascinating!

Yes they are a good addition. They will bread . And have a big family if you look at your rock work at night you might see more then you expect.

I have heard but only very rarely that sometimes feather dusters have squirted stuff out and everytime I've heard about it the person It happened to described it as looking like ink
