I had a rock with 5-6 Ricordea that were super health and growing. Now within the last 30 days the have all withered away to practically nothing. They have done this one by one. After the first one, I thought one of my fish or peppermint shrimps was nipping at them. I pulled the rock out and moved it to a quarantine tank, it has some Zoas on it as well that all seem fine. They have continued to shrink and disappear. Today I pulled the remaining 2 pieces off the rock, did a fresh water dip and then a short dip in 3% peroxide. I'm not sure they are salvageable even if I can figure out what's going on. The quarantine tank was made up with new water, I just matched the salinity and temp of my main tank, 1.025 sg and 79* F. They are currently in a small container with clean water I just mixed up.
I have noticed a huge amount of copepods in the quarantine tank. I haven't seen any kind of pest, even after dipping the Ricordea. There is nothing in the quarantine tank other than the rock with the Zoas/Ricordea and a couple of snails. I'll attach a picture of what is left of the Ricordea, the largest is about the size of a dime. I'm more concerned with figuring out what is going on than saving the small pieces as I'd like to get more Ricordea.
