Need help identifying this growth around my gsp. Doesnt seem to irritate anything, grows pretty slowly.
Hoping it is harmless as this is a main support rock in the tank and cannot be removed.

Thanks in advance!

I'm certainly not very experienced, but it looks to me that it could possible be dead polyps. It doesn't look like algae, or a sponge...definitely not aptaisia.

Reeferdood, thanks! Here's a picture of the whole colony. It's only a few months old.

Gary S, I'm not sure that they are dead polyps as they are growing/expanding. They also seem to be branching a little bit as well. Definitely not aptasia as I have dealt with those before. These are white and firmly attached, and do not contract when bothered.

Are they rigid or move?

Looks like the mouth feeding tentacles of a cucumber or a worm
@KJ thoughts?

Kinda looks like Chondria the way it is structured.

Does it have a reddish tint?
