Something growing in my sump

Can someone help me ID these little white growths I have in my sump? They're in all of my sump chambers, but I haven't seen any in my DT. I pulled my pump out to take a closer look (and feel), and they well adhered to the surfaces and pretty gelatinous, but firm. And although I prefer to live and let live, are they harmful to my system? All opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

Just harmless filter feeders. I've had them over both my tanks

Thanks for the info. Looked them up on line and that's exactly what they are. And they don't seem to be much of a pest so I'll just leave them be.
