Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knows what's this thing growing on my live rocks and should I worry about it? Thanks in advance!

Looks like aiptasia to me. You'll want to get rid of it because it can sting your corals and smaller fish. I use Peppermint Shrimp to eradicate them in my tanks.

Good Luck!

Aptasia x worked wonders for me on a brand new 10g. Zapped two pieces with it and haven't seen any come back in the last two months. Take care of it asap as they can multiply quickly

Definitely aiptasia. Kill it with fire!...I wish we could do that ;) you won't like it when there are 50 of them keeping your other corals closed up. +1 on the aiptasia x. That's what I use, just make sure to cover the entire thing. Helps if pumps are turned off.

i had one and i didnt want it spreading and i tryed pepperment but my royal gramma ate it befor it even got a chance so i put rocks over top of it to get him to move there mobile anemones so it would shift to a defernt rock till i got him were i wanted him then i took rock out and use screw driver and chizeled it right off rock rock had a white spot but coral line purple algea will cover it soon enough

Personal opinion, I wouldn't buy aiptasia x. Always seemed to make the issue worse for me and their may be aiptasia where you cant see them to apply the aiptX. I would go natural and get a couple Peppermint shrimp or a Copperband butterfly fish if in good shape and eating frozen and if you have the tank space.

I have had a couple small ones show in my sump rock.... I pulled the rock out and literally killed them with fire!!! The coralline went white, but is already being covered by new....
