Something inbetween zoa polyps

Usually my zoas are open and happy but they’ve always had this stuff inbetween them thats really obvious when the polyps close up any idea what it is?

Are you referring to the tube? If so that's a vermited snail PEST!

You're going to want to break the snail tube and put reef/super glue over the space it occupied. Use gloves and watch out for palytoxins.

No I know about the tube, it’s just the gray rock looking stuff thats inbetween the zoas. They seem to be pushing the zoas or something.
 
I really gotta say that i think that's just rock, and that's just how the zoas are growing on it
