I have had this fish since October of last year, it's a good size fish maybe 3", it has progressed since then in qt, it went through a bacterial problem which it coped with pretty well, after that it lost weight but is still in it now better since it arrived so I have noticed that in the last couple of months this fish shows a different coloration as I can tell it has progressively "changed" during this time, its dorsal fin has become very pale with a green/yellow very nice and in that area, its red lines become a little paler, the black of its tail has faded and the ventral area seems to be lighter, and in general its body too. So I'm not sure what It happens here, I'm going to attach photographs of when he arrived, and the most recent ones below, sorry for the quality of the photos since the fish is difficult to photograph and also the camera on my phone is terrible, let me know what you think:

My guess is he may be a Xanthic Eibli or possibly hybrid and now he’s settled he’s showing his true colours?

The red lines have become a little lighter, it seems that in general the coloration has paled but the green/yellow tones have increased.

Angels and other large reef fish often don't look their best when kept in non-reef environments. Likely something to do with comfort levels in a "natural vs. artificial environment." A lot of it could be dietary as well.
That is an interesting answer, can you explain more about this? I'm feeding frozen mysis and brine, seafood porridge and flakes.

Angels do well with a lot of partially vegetable/algae and sponge preparations as well. I would assume it's more about the environment.

May be a hybrid as I have in 4 decades have not seen yellow other than on an eibli tang which too is a hybrid

The preparation of the seafood porridge includes nori, peas and I don't remember if spirulina as well, on top of that it has squid, clams, etc.

Is it still in a QT or grow out tank?
He is still in qt, I had plans to sell it because it had a very aggressive coral beauty angel (however I lost it a couple of months ago), but only a couple of people were interested in buying it and they canceled at the last minute, so I decided to fatten it up and put it in my dt, which I'm about to update, so it's still in qt. I don't want to tank him in two times.

The yellow color on its dorsal fin catches my attention. I always liked C.eibli because of the green and orange hues on the pelvic and anal fins, but it looks amazing right now, the pictures don't do it justice, I hate my phone camera.

Eibli Tangs aren’t hybrids, these are simply mimicking their native Dwarf Angelfish as juveniles and as they mature they do change into a different sometimes more drab colour palette. The 3 Mimic Tangs all do the same and mimic their native Dwarf Angels as juveniles these 3 tangs are;
Acanthurus chronixis (This species only mimics the half black angelfish and has a relatively small area of origin).
Acanthurus tristis (This species only mimics the Eibli Angelfish and has another relatively small area of origin)
Acanthurus pyroferus (This species mimics several Dwarf angels; Cocopeel Angel, Lemonpeel Angel and the Half Black Angel, these guys have the largest area of origin out of the 3 species of Mimic Tangs).

I'm going to improve this type of feeding still, I'll add selcon or vitamins, I hope I can also get some food that is suggested for coralive butterflies, gel food that can be combined with high quality dry food but here in Mexico it's not easy to obtain them.
