Hi, so I have been losing snails non-stop since the beginning of tank set up (about a year now). I had a tank for 5 years before this one with no issues with my CUC. I thought that my parameters were killing my snails or something. Well after a year of trying to figure out my parameters...... I did some online research and I just confirmed - something that looks like a large pod (the size of a mysis shrimp) is killing my snails. I currently have two large zerba turbo. Both were eating well and then one day one of them stayed somewhat closed up and wouldn't move. I picked him up and shook him in the water. This pod creature scrambled out and into the rock work. As soon as I put him back in, he started going his merry way again. The same thing happened with the other turbo. This morning I found my turban half eaten and the pod creature was happily munching away. The turban was perfectly fine the night before.
Another thing I noticed was that all of the large snails that I bought to eat hair algae would avoid the rock work and stick to the glass. I think this is the reason why. What do I do? I tried to get a picture but they are too small and not often in plain sight.
