Something new in my refuge. What is it?

hey guys noticing some redish brown algae growing in refuge. anyone know what it is and if its good or bad?

cyanobacteria. aka red slime. you can use chemiclean to remove it but you gotta figure out the cause. check your nitrates and phosphates with good test kits.

They are def highi have been battling this for months now.
Nitrate is 42 ppm
And phos is at .82.
im going to remove most of my sand being that it is 7 years Old and I took it from friend when I bought his tank back in late December.. I screwed up and didn’t wash it. I just poured it all in the tank... with that being said, I’m making progress. So far.
