Something on my cheato !!

Hey guys

While doing my water change today I saw that there are something white on my chaeto and I'm not sure what is it. Does anyone have any idea ? Is it good or bad ?

My cheato grow like crazy and I have to remove ab 70% from my mini refugium. That's probably because I have a high nitrate lvl around 20 since I feeded my fish a lot this past week. I will reduce my feeding and doing a waterchange to reduce nitrate lvl.

Looks like pineapple sponges. While the sponges aren't bad, I would go ahead and remove them.

Thank you so much for your fast reply I will remove them right away do you have any idea what is the cause that make it appear ? Is it because of high lvl of nitrate ?

You likely introduced them on a frag or something else. They are not bad, and their growth is encouraged by having dissolved organic carbons and nitrates. But they tend to like darker areas (overflows and whatnot).
