Something Really Cool Happened In My Nano!

So the way I cycled my nano was some turbostart and then I would add skim from my main tank every day, just 5ML or so. Anyhow, the tank seems to have cycled and I have a couple of hermits and snails in there, but I checked this morning and there are hundreds of pods on the glass! Amazing !!’ So what I am assuming happened was that my skimmer is skimming out pods in my main tank, and that’s how they go into the cube!

I thought that was pretty cool !!

Seeing tons of pods in the tank always brings a sense of satisfaction to me. About the same level of seeing corals grow actually.

All it takes is a few to be transferred and they reproduce rather fast. Yet when their food source decreases the population depletes rather fast.

Yeah I don’t expect them to last long ! Literally no food going in at all! Maybe I’ll inject some skim this morning

That’s pretty awesome! A great way to start!! I’m sure you’ll get a healthy population as long as they find enough food as they won’t be affected by predation right now. Are you still adding the skimmate?

Yeah I just added another couple of mil just now. Probably leave it alone in terms of fish until next week. I put a crappy torch that I did not like from my big tank in too. Seems to be doing ok!
