Something is slowly killing my torch.
These are the healthy polyps

These are the bad

Over the last 2 months I’ve lost 2 polyps. Now brown jelly. Dipped and nothing came off. The only thing is A white fine hair like something growing on the stems (last pic).

I have a RSR 425xl. Lighting is 3 Radion XR15 Pro. Using coral labs SPSPHX14 @ 65%, 9 1/2 hours (on at 11 & off at 8:30)

I dose Oceans blend 1&2 using Apex dos/ddr and manually dose OB Magnesium. Add RS Reef Energy a&b every 2 days. Reef Roids mixed with Reef Nutrition Oyster Feast & Arctic Pods twice a week. Feed fish 3 times a day, Reef Frenzy/mysis. Use a BRS 6 stage ro/di & Red Sea Blue Bucket (contemplating switching to Tropic Marin Pro). Do water changes every week
I’ve had this torch since 2015, never any problems.

Hard to tell for sure. Are those apstasia in some of the photos??? Your numbers look to be fine for Euphyllia.

I would also give that coral a dip in revive or Coral RX, as well as in Iodine dip if it a bacterial infection. That may be the cause. If you see brown jelly, get it out immediately. It will spread to other Euphyllia...

Are you talking about the last photo where I circled two areas that looked like hair? I haven’t seen any apstasia. Im pretty diligent with that stuff. Just that white looking hair and underneath some of my live rock is something else that looks white, with the texture of baby hair. Snails don’t touch it. Flatworms? I hope not! That is actually the healthy side. They were mad that I picked it up to take the pics. I’ll try the to dip it again My Indo Purple Tip frogspawn & Giant Duncan are growing like beasts, it’s only this one.

Second that! I have never had any success trying to save an infected or sick torch. It’s not impossible but certainly not easy. It would be safer to move it to the QT to avoid spreading to other corals in the tank. Happy reefing!

If you have a Diamond Blade Wet Saw like a Gryphon, would be a great idea. Cut the heads off if you see Flesh falling off, or brown jelly. Then iodine dip.

While I am no expert by any means, but if the webbing from the vermetid snail is reaching the dying heads then it could be a cause. Superglue the tube and see if that helps. It will take time for the heads to come back, but you should see improvement somewhat soon if that was the cause. If it continues to decline after that I would lean towards a possible infection

Sorry, I wasn’t ignoring your posts. Our Chocolate Lab went after our Black Lab. The chocolate won..we had to check over the loser.

I’ve been battling the vermitid snails in my tank. They’re all over the place. Can they be the reason those heads are dying? I will still dip it. I looked at it again, and didn’t see anything that looked like jelly.

Nothing came off using Revive. Is it safe to dip in Lugol’s or should I wait a couple days?

NO, time is of the essence on that torch. Dip it in Iodine asap.

Hi. My guess is that it has fallen to a bacterial infection that will most definetly spread through the entire colony. Also as a secondary infection it might brown jelly dissease and spread to other LPS. If this was my coral I would set up a small emergency QT container with basic equipement and start treating with wide spectar antiobiotics ( tetracycline or chloramphenicol). If separate QT is not an option, antibiotic dip for at least 30 minutes for 3-4 days should solve the issue. Iodine wont do much here, as the infection is within the coral tissue. Just my 2 cents from my own experience with finicky torches.
