Something stuck to tomini tang eye?!?!

Caught and placed in freshly vacuumed and large water change hospital tank! Trapping was uneventful, didn’t freak out when the trapdoor closed. Hopefully he isn’t to stressed in the new tank to start the kanaplex when it comes in tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!

Well despite an easy catch a placement in the hospital tank, I believe the tang is on the way out. Had one dose of kanaplex and tolerated it fine. Upon the second dose 48 hr later I believe the tang is now moribund and won’t make it. Laying in the sand. Not breathing fast but I believe the infection was too far past treatment. We shall see how the day goes. I’m actually surprised we are still here through the night.

Not sure what the actual diagnosis would be but I think I gave it my best shot.

Tough to ever really see anything post-mortem, the fish discolor so quickly. If you look at a skin scrape and gill clip under a microscope with in an hour or so of death, you can sometimes see if it was a parasite...but you still wouldn't see anything if it was bacterial.
