Hi! I have had this live rock established for quite a while and I havent noticed this until now. It looks like a small cluster of arms with a green ring around the head and long tentacles wavng in the current.
Anyone know what it might be? The size is really small, each arm is like the average vermetid tube.
Thanks for any ideas!

Okey, I have one or two visible aiptasia in my tank but they dont really look or grow like these. The ones in the first post have a bright green ring at the base of the head and skinnier tentacles.

Peppermint shrimp will sort it out

I have always liked the way they look lol but they will take over unchecked.

I found a pic of very similar looking growth in this thread, where it is described as Colonial Hydroids, could that be what it is? I dont want to squirt aiptasia-x on these before I know for sure what they are. :)

Also, this fish will eat it and won't move the corals Chelmon rostratus

while this fish will eat aiptasie but there is a risk it will eat corals Acreichthys tomentosus

Colonial hydroids.

i think its aiptasia the beautiful green color that they have made me guess about it
but a six-line wrasse or peppermint shrimp will kill it off

Thanks for all the replies! I do not think it is Aiptasia, I am now sure it is Colonial Hydroids based of other pictures online. I will just leave them be for now and hopefully they wont explode all over my tank.
