I have had a yellow tang for almost two weeks now and it was fine. Today I noticed that it wasn’t swimming around much, it keeps going to the back of the tank, kind of hidden by the rock and just sitting there. It also seems to have lost weight. A couple of days ago, I lost a small blue Atlantic tang from unknown causes.(I got it the same time that I got the yellow tang and I also got a blue hippo tang) The other fish don’t seem to be messing with it, and I don’t remember if it ate anything when I fed it earlier.
It also spends quite a bit of time just floating in the spot show in the pic.

Sorry for your problems.

I can’t see anything in the picture but weight loss could be a symptom of a few different conditions starting with internal parasites.

Is the fish flashing/scratching? Any heavy breathing? Spots/sores/wounds on the body?

Have you noticed anything unusual on the dead Atlantic tang?

I haven’t noticed any of the things that you mentioned. It didn’t look like there was anything wrong with the Atlantic.

no Ammonia in the tank?

Do you have a Quarantine tank set up or would you be able to set one up? In cases like this it may be best to set up a QT and try out a few things.

I have two other tanks that don’t have any coral or fish, but they have scarlet hermit crabs, turbo snails, peppermint shrimp, sand, and live rock in one, a plastic rock structure in the other. One of the tanks is a 10 gallon, the other is a 32 gallon biocube.
