I am very limited on DSLR experience, but for the life of me, I cannot get my Sony a5000 to get a color balance even close to real life. I am using the stock 18-55mm lens.

The auto feature on my wifes Nikon D5000 is 20x closer. Is anybody using these Sony NEX/a-xxxx series cameras with any success?

I would simply recommend adjusting the white balance in Photoshop or similar. Some really good reef photographers don't even bother trying to get the white balance correct on the shot, rather they do it in editing. Then you can adjust it to what your eye sees when you are viewing the tank live.

I’m using an a6000. I always use manual everything and I manual adjust the color balance

So here are some shots using auto...It just seems too bright. Any suggestions?
