Soooooo im an idiot now what?

So I recently upgraded my lighting on a 135g mixed reef to kessil ap700s. (Which are awesome lights) I ran the acclimation setting for the first week which worked great. Then my stupid mistake! I made a custom setting which looked great but not thinking I set the last setting at 10pm at 10% instead of 0% so the lights have been on 24/7 for about a week luckiy at least at a low setting lol. Surprisingly ally corals look good maybe a little stressed but not bad. However my problem now is tons and tons if algae! Mostly like brown hair but some green all over my rock and glass. I cleaned the glass but how would you go about the rest? I have a pretty good cuc but there is ALOT if algae. Should I shut the lights off completely for a couple days? Maybe buy a sea hare? Just hoping for some suggestions .

Don't worry. Your tank is starting to go over through the ugly period. The algae will be all over the rock and tank until the tank is about 6 months old and all of that will disappeared. Just remember to keep your nitrate and phosphate low. If you don't after the ugly period is over you will continue to battle this algae problem since the nitrate and phosphate soaked deep in the rocks. If you can syphon out as much algae as you can will help to keep the algae from getting out of control but it will be back the next day or two. Don't be discourage... That is just a normal in new tank setup... Also don't let your nitrate or phosphate to go zero... Then you will encourage dino to set foot in your tank and it will be a bigger problem to deal with.

Yeah my coral seem to be fine maybe a little unhappy looking but nothing really to speak of. My big problem was all this dang algae lol. Since I corrected the lights im not getting it on my glass anymore but it's still all over the rock and pumps.

If it were me and it is as bad as you make it sound, I would not be content to just wait out an ugly tank of algae that is most likely choking the life out of your corals. Especially since you did not have an algae issue before, there is no reason to think you should have it now.

Next time you do a water change I would put in a bit extra elbow grease and pull those rocks out and brush/scrape them really well with a very hard bristled tooth brush. Do your brushing in old tank water that you take out during the water change. Probably take a few hours out of your night, and maybe a little blood, sweat and tears, but will be well worth it to have a nice looking tank again and not suffer for how every long it takes to naturally work its self out.
