How is his breathing? That looks like it’s into his gills. I’m wondering if you have a secondary infection from possible gill or skin flukes. Any flashing? Any new additions to the tank?

No flashing, breahing normally, and eating good. Flame is the newest addition. Sore does look to have gotten a little bigger since yesterday.

How long have you had the flame? Did you QT? Do you have Metro, Furan 2, Kanaplex on hand?

Not actually my fish. He did not but place he got it says they did. Been in his tank for 12 days now. I doubt he has medication but can pick some up if needed.

Ok, so you must assume it was not quarantined unfortunately. Does the sore appear to be bloody at all? Can you do a FW dip to check for flukes? If no flukes I would dose the trifecta for a bacterial infection. If the sore appears slightly bloody or bruising then I guess Uronema would be a possibility. I know that’s worse case scenario but it’s always a possibility.

He does have have the ability to qt. Let me find out if it appears bloody

This the right stuff?

Yes, it’s a little pricey but is worth its weight in gold with sick or injured fish. I don’t know if you’ll need the kick ich but I believe that is a formelin product.

I agree ruby reef rally bath followed by NFG would be ideal but until NFG arrives kanaplex, metroplex, and furan 2 in a hospital/QT for 14 days. A full 14. That’s a nasty infection... no idea what caused it but I’d handle it ASAP, fish antibiotics can be very slow acting.
