Ok. My pH right now is 7.8. So I figured if want 8.2, I should add some Fritz pH higher. Dosed it twice. No change. So I decided ok, let’s see how much of this stuff I’d need to change it to 8.2 in one gallon of rodi water with 1.24 sg salinity. It took 20 mL. Is this realistic? If I wanted my tank to read 8.2, I’d have to dump the whole bottle in. What do you all do?

I use a co2 scrubber and dose kalkwasser all day long and still struggle to reach even 8.0. If you have high concentrations of co2 in your home or source water it will be a struggle to hit 8.2. Have you tried running a line from your skimmer to the outside?

if your corals look good I wouldn't worry too much about dropping down to 7.8, I've had my tanks in the winter when all the windows are closed jump from 7.8 on the low up to 8.3 on the high with no issues

I’m have a nano skimmer that I have to empty myself. How much kalkwasser do you have to put in on a daily basis?

I use a kalk stirrer fed by a dosing pump. Being a nano tank you might try all for reef as it will help keep your alkalinity stable which will help bolster ur ph because generally a slightly higher alk will bump ph

I would not chase pH per se. Though the best way to raise pH - is either a supplement - like Kalkwasser - OR better yet - more fresh air in the room - i.e. less CO2 in the room - or your skimmer intake coming from outside.

Looked at the all for reef. Seems perfect. Thanks for your advice.

I would really suggest not chasing ph if you are new to the hobby just worry about keeping alkaolinite stable and the rest of your parameters Fallon line much easier any Quick fixes are likely to not work long term.

ANY chemical that claims to raise pH is just a high pH alkalinity supplement. Adding them without needing alkalinity is not a good practice. The typical result is high alkalinity without solving the pH problem.

Too bad Fritz neglects to tell this to buyers. Wonder why? lol

Don't use Alkalinity/Ph additives for the purpose of increasing your PH. If anything, find a skimmer that fits in your aquarium; pair that up with a co2 scrubber, and open the windows for an hour everyday.

*If you don't have demand for Alk/Ph additives*
