This is what happens when acros can't grow up any more. I usually trim mine back when this happens, but this guy did not.

I think more amazing to me is that width of those branches. I have never seen one that stocky before.

I have always called SPS pretty little sticks, that is a pretty big stick.

Pretty cool how they "plate" out. BTW, this is not my pic but another reefer from Spain from another forum. Chunky stags like this are pretty common on the reefs but need a lot of flow in the aquarium to maintain.
 
The flat waves:). I sent some blue tip from coralreefing (from MTRC) to garf during a trade five or six years back and coralreefing's blue tip was growing out of the water. Norm at garf thought it was a really cool look:). You know you've got problems when corals are gorwing out of your tanks:D. Nice problem, Dave.
 
That's really cool looking. I was just looking at this tank over at the zeovit forums. Its the tank of the quarter.
