Source for Wrasses

What is your preference to source difficult to keep wrasses? LA has Blue Star Leopards available, but I'm worried about the shipping aspect. Any advice?

It really depends. Sometimes the collection point helps a lot.

Leopard and Anampses wrasses collected from Maurtius and Madagascar seem to do better than their Kenyan and Maldives counterparts. Australia and Hawaii generally have fish from there do well, but each has a few exceptions.

Personally, any place that will hold, and at least condition them, has a step up.

Lots of people get fish via shipping. Especially harder to get fish. Check @ZoaCollector a sponsor here also @Pieces of the Ocean another sponsor here both have beautiful healthy fish and corals. Both are awesome to deal with and stand behind their sales. They come eating and conditioned.

I have shipped most of my fish in, and really if you think about it 99% of the fish in our tanks were shipped at some point. My concern is with this particular wrasse because it has a hard time with shipment.
A local LFS won't ship them in for me because of the high DOA rate.

Both of them are into rarer and delicate species I'd check them out and see what they say.

Live aquaria will be a good choice. They warranty their fish incase of a DOA and weeks after.

Just an update: I ended up ordering three Blue Star Leopard Wrasses from Live Aquaria, hoping for two to survive shipping. Here's my thread on how they fared:
