Sources for single culture phyto for breeding?

So I'm looking to get a few cultures rolling for my future adventure into mandarin larva rearing. And I've noticed that finding single species phyto cultures is kind of limited... it seems most suppliers only want to sell their "special mix" of various live phytos. But I need single species so I know what I actually have. I can get the specific pods I need from algagen and the T. Iso from algae research supply. But im also looking for chaetoceros muelleri and don't see that for sale anywhere for a reasonable price... theres one place that has it but it's $140....

not a pure source per se but one of the so called “blends” ends up being kinda brown after a few “copies” , I’d wager it’s ISO thats takes over, …I wanna say it’s one of the phycopure blends,

Carolina.com carries a bunch of different individual algae species, but not Chaetoceros muelleri. Miami Aquaculture carries it, but it is expensive (30 ml for $150, 2 L for $275, or 18 L for $300). They also have a bunch of different algae species for the same or similar prices. If a quick search doesn’t pull another source of the algae I’m looking for up, those are usually the two places I check first.

Given the price of the places that sell the one you’re after, though, I’d take the suggestion above and give them a call. Good luck!

Florida aqua farms has good stuff but they're primarily offline - don't expect emails when it ships, tracking info, or shipment the same week....

An unusual place you could try: Carolina, the educational science distributor. They've got a couple of diatom species I had trouble finding elsewhere and for a good price, but they also carry some standard phytoplankton and copepods.
