Sourcing 10k 3w bridgelux LED

Title says it all I need a true 3w 10k bridgelux or similar. I ordered some so called 3w LED's off of EBAY and low and behold they are actually 1.5w. Makes me so angry ebay alllows that kind of dishonest fraudulent activity on their site. Anyway Does anyone know where I can find these leds? I figured mouser of Digikey would have them but that is a big fat no. Some of the other sites I have come across that says they have them make me question if they are truly 3w 10k leds. Thanks for any help.

yeah that is one site I found but was unsure. I am bought ready to buy SB reefs conversion plates and call it a day....... I originally purchased a viparscpectra unit for my 40 breeder. Once I got it I didnt like the color of the white so I ordered some different whites to install. Now that I am ready to upgrade to a 75g I figured it was time to redo the whites on the second viparspectra unit. Now I cant seems to find quality 3w 10k leds.

Or maybe I'll just buy a couple halides and slap them above the tank. The cost of quality led fixtures......makes me want to gouge my eyeballs out.

The ReefBreeder Photon V2 uses the same LED chips as the AI Hydras. The only differences are the AI's use a 6500K white and the RB uses a 5000K. I have toyed with changing them out but not sure if I want to undertake that project.

Leds are easy to swap. Even the small cree ones. When I built my fuge light I ordered my cree leds seperate from the star board and did the soldering myself. So much cheaper that way. Maybe I will hold out and get a set of quality lights. I dont mind spending the money....to a point at least.... Its getting the wifey on board that is the issue.

I looked at them when I upgraded mine to the V2+ and they are absolutely tiny. I thought they would have been mounted on a secondary PCB but they are just soldered directly to the one main board. The other thing I was wanting to do was swap the lenses out for a different type, like a diffused 90 degree lens, instead of the clear ones to reduce the disco ball effect and improve color blending. I just have not been able to find anything other than making my own out of a light diffuser panel for a ceiling mounted light.

Its getting the wifey on board that is the issue.

well as far as diffusing goes you could buy some large diffuser sheets and cut out enough to cover each individual lens you want to diffuse and attach it with a couple toothpick tip size spots of super glue. That way if you want to remove them you can.

As far as the leds. It takes a bit of skill to remove those without damaging the led itself. A hotair rework station of IR rework station is needed.
