Space between scape and glass?

Building a scape for my 220G peninsula (6x3x2) it has a 4” euro brace on both sides. How much room between the scape and glass would you leave on each side?

Will it be SPS dominant

Enough to get a magnetic scraper in between the two. Most people seem to agree that 2 or 3 inches is sufficient.

I would say 6 or 7". Give those sticks a little room to grow off the rocks and still fit glass cleaner between. Probably less so in the rear
