Space invader

Picked up a space invader frag from the LFS today. $30 seemed like a great price for the frag from what I have seen.

What is your guys experience with this coral?

I know that they are ultra aggressive. I have seen pictures of some pretty amazing specimens. Looking forward to this one

Exactly what I thought!!! Had to take it

They also had some decent sized gold hammers for $40. I kicked myself for not grabbing them. I might have to go back and grab them all just because of the price

That’s a pectina coral

They aren’t the easiest coral to take care of. Not as hard as acro but not easy either.
They aren’t too aggressive do put out stingers at night.
Some get awesome colors.
As far as space invader that’s just a made up name for this coral. But it normally has brighter yellow and green colors. So as far as calling it a space invader I say probably not

I think I might have to go back and grab the hammers. Look almost exactly like the yellow hammers ASD currently has going for $200+

Obviously a pectinia. Looked to be a space invader IMO so had to grab it. Looks nice so far but I suppose time will tell.

Looked at this guy last night a couple hours after moonlights came on. Could see probably a dozen sweepers around an 1" long way crazy

Looking good! I’m pretty sure all green/yellow pectina I have seen are named space invader, that’s what I would call it

Thanks guys. Was just looking at it last night and compared to the photo of when I put it in the tank I was surprised to see how much it has grown.

I am really liking this piece. The sweepers on this thing are every bit of what I have heard. Never seen so many sweepers coming out of a small frag
