So im trying to get a good reading on the spec Gravity, but every time I measure, it gets a different reading, anywhere from 1.016 up to 1.023. Im using the instant ocean hydrometer. Every time I do it, I try to dip in down to about halfway in the tank, then try and knock off some off the bubbles that are attached to the I guess you would call the sensor? Any thoughts?

I would get a floating glass hydrometer. There like $2 at the LFS. Those swing arm ones aren't great. I've used them in the past and they were very consistent (for me anyway) but a floating glass ones are so much better.
A refractometer is probably the best option, but the floating glass kind is my weapon of choice when it comes to measuring SG :)

Gonna need a Refractometer, or Digital Refractometer for more acuracy. Hydrometers are nortorious for being unreliable.

Thank you for the replies. I was actually going up to my LFS tomorrow, I'll have to pick one up.
