I know the species specific tanks gets talked about quite a bit, but I am wondering if anyone has ever done a tank with not only just one species (such as the scoly tank, or montipora tanks), but with only one color morph, such as a tank with only red planet or green slimer. Many frags of the same thing attached, grown into one big colony? With potentially losing most of my sps this week, I have wondered how it would look and more importantly, if I would have the discipline to pull it off. What I envision is that instead of the reef tank with tons of color and shape diversity, it looks more like this:

Could be boring, idk! Has anyone done anything like this? I doubt I could or ultimately want to do it, but I would love to see some pics if someone has

How about green slimmer and blue tort dominant tank. I've sold most of the colonies for more space for other corals.

I like it! Did you get sick of only have the two and wanted to diversify?

Cool!

I had 4 types in my other tank. The other two were a rainbow nasuta and a red planet. I have owned the colonies for almost 10 years now. Over that time I have sold major colonies. During tank switch I went from two part to calcium reactor and had some die when I was dialing in the reactor. Now with the new tank I hope to have more color spread across the tank.
