The spots disappeared last night after the transfer and were back again this morning. I did a thourough sand rinse so hopefully eliminated any bad guys. The sand you see in the pic is just remnants from when I had some rock in the tank the other day-its my qt tank . Does anyone know if copper is safe for blennies? While it could be sand stuck to the fish's mucus, I'd think that catching it up and moving it to the QT would have dislodged that. If it isn't sand, then it would be ich. If you moved the sand to a new tank, then that could have contaminated that tank also. That said, the spots look so distinct, and I see sand drifts in the pic behind the fish, so maybe it is sand afterall?

Thanks, I started hypo before work today, I'll dose copper as well when I get homeAs you may be aware, early stage ich will come and go on a fish, but once the infection really gets cranking, the spots will be on the fish all of the time and greatly increase in numbers.
That species of fish will be fine in a properly performed copper treatment using Copper Power, Cupramine or Coppersafe.
