I set my RODI up just over a year ago, and have never replaced a filter. For the first time today my product water is reading a TDS of 1. I have not checked my ratio, and I have not checked for chlorine. Should all the filters be replaced, or just certain ones?

I would check the TDS output of your RO membrane first. If it is low 1-3 then you probably need to replace your DI resin. If the pressure before the RO membrane is low then you need to replace your sediment filter and possibly your carbon block. Since these are not that expensive there is no reason to purchase both and replace them at the same time.

Out of my membrane, it looks like 3ppm.

You should replace the sediment and carbon block filters every 6 months and disinfect the system at least annually if not at every 6 month service. At this point I would also replace the MaxCap DI but the SilicaBuster DI is probably OK, it should last as long as 3 MaxCapDI cartridges before it needs replaced. You will probably see the final or OUT TDS reading on the right hand (DI) meter drop to 0 once the MaxCap DI is replaced as well as the IN readings which is the MaxCap itself.

You really do need to check the waste ratio, this is a very important step and one of the reasons the MaxCap works so well and DI lasts so long.

So the membrane and Silica Buster can remain; just replace the three others, sediment, carbon & DI?

Yes. Your owners manual gives you all the information you need starting on page 11. It also shows you how to check and adjust the waste ratio if needed starting on page 8.

Just ordered mine today, hope it was worth the money:
Spectra Pure MaxCap 1:1 Ultra-High-Efficiency 100-GPD RO/DI System

Anyone know the difference between the Spectra Pure Ultra High Efficiency 100 GPD and the Perfomance Plus 100 GPD UHE systems besides the price

i forget what charles told me as it was a while ago. but the newer high efficiency does come with the new di mixes.

By Newer I assume you mean the Perfomance Plus- why is it cheaper?

that’s the part i don’t remember. it does come with the newer di mixes already and i remember asking charles why it was cheaper and i don’t remember what he said. maybe newer technology that is cheaper to manufacture.
