So a while back I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Sanjay Joshi runs all of his channels on his Radions at 100%. When I read the article I was utilizing the Coral Lab AB+ program with peak overall intensity at 100%, but had my white, red and green channels at 24%. As a result of the article, I figured with my nutrient load, desire to learn, and to improve colors that I would begin to increase the intensity of the aforementioned channels with a calculated "low risk" to my tanks inhabitants.
I have systematically increased the intensity of my white, red and green to 48% over a long period of time (probably 6 months) and have enjoyed improvements in the colors of all my corals (SPS and LPS). With really no change in the level of my nutrients, feeding practices, or any other parameter my corals have thrived, color has improved, and polyp extension in my SPS has improved.... until the last week or so. A couple of my corals look pale (PC Rainbow, OP), but continue to have improved PE. So what are your thoughts on the red and green channels and their contribution to coral colors and health? Am I running too much light on my 65G reef with two Radion G3 Pro's?
