Spendley's 29g Biocube (May'13 start)

You need to acclimate very slowly! Those LED's are going to be way stronger than the CF's.

Steve's LED came in...but they sent me the kit for biocube 14 instead of 29. Frustrating, but I am patient so I guess just have to wait a while longer.

Sending the 14 kit back today, and they will send mine as soon as they see I have shipped...so hopefully getting them on Friday (again). deja vu eh?

Also I got antsy and picked up a RBTA from my lfs yesterday. I know I rushed by a couple of days, but I have heard of RBTA surviving well with stock biocube lights, and figured it made sense to acclimate him to my lights at the same time as the rest of my tank.

RBTA is looking great. He came on a little rock but once he got on my tank about 2 hours in he had moved to a spot he liked. I hated the spot obviously, so I flipped the rock and 12 hours later he is still chilling there. I will post pics later tonight.

FTS from last night. Everything is doing great, but I want to find a better spot for the Zoa rock on bottom left (ideally I'd want to break up the rock or something but mehhh)

Just wanted to attach the pic of my stand because I really like how neat everything looks haha. Before I had the tank stationed in another room and didn't really have any defined cabinet space, now I've got enough space for all my goods.

Edit- yeah that's a laminated sheet I plan on using to track my params. And that is a massive tube of zip ties ($4.99 at Home Depot!).

nice build man! im with ya on the empty pockets but the biocubes are perfect tanks for getting addicted, i cant keep my hands out of mine!! yours is looking really good cant wait to see updates!

RBTA is doing great. Gave me a little bit of a worry after I fed it I was watching for a while and watched the whole digestion thing go down - completely shriveled into the hole I was like WHAT NO COME BACK!!!

Also bought a pistol shrimp at the beginning of November. He went under the rock I wanted him to, and I decided to buy a PVC cross for him to use as a home. I think he likes it? Hard to tell but haven't heard him complaining.

Moved the giant hammer coral to the back (made a "stand" for it out of egg crate). Guess I'll have to update with some pics once I get home!

Looking good. I am working on the kinks out of my bc29 from steves now. I think you will be really happy with it. Just start the lighting on extra low... It's REALLY bright.

Yeah, I've had them on my tank for about three weeks now. Started at like 30% blues 20% whites. Still not sure where I want to have it end up, but currently am at 80% blues 45% whites.

What do you run yours at (or if still acclimating what are you thinking)?

Oh man. These were the glory days. Sometime over the summer I started putting bad water into my tank, not realizing that I needed to change my RODI filters so soon. I got a spike in phosphates, and that took out much of the coral and the anemone. I got new filters and things have gotten better, but I am dealing with a lot of green hair algae. Some of the corals might survive with a couple of small polyps still around, but man that was devastating.

I also moved within the past few months, and just got the tank down here last weekend. I was able to successfully move without any problems, which was nice.

How does one rid of Green Hair Algae?
